No military personnel involved in the Gavar incident, says Defense Ministry spokesperson

Shushan Stepanyan, spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, made a statement on her Facebook page, noting that no military personnel, including those from the Military Police, were involved in the incident that occurred yesterday in the city of Gavar.

"The information circulated regarding the incident in Gavar, suggesting that one of the deceased is an investigator from the Military Police, is not true. No military personnel, including those from the Military Police, were involved in the aforementioned incident," the spokesperson stated.

It is worth recalling that gunshots were heard on Freedom Street in Gavar yesterday evening, resulting in two deaths and four citizens being hospitalized. According to various theories circulating in the media, the conflict reportedly arose between teenagers.

According to Tert.am, after the gunfire in Gavar, the attack was organized by the brother of the deceased known as "Arj from Noratus." He, along with a group of individuals armed with sticks and other objects, entered the hospital, reportedly slitting the throats of two injured individuals, and one other individual, who is unaffiliated with either side, also sustained injuries.

As per Tert.am, one of the individuals attacked after the gunfire underwent surgery, while the other is in critical condition and has been transferred to Yerevan.
