Moscow Prepares Additional 10,000 Hospital Beds
The Mayor of Moscow, Sergey Sobyanin, has announced that the authorities of the Russian capital are preparing an additional 10,000 hospital beds. These beds are intended to be ready for the large influx of patients, as reported by "Gazeta".
The beds will be arranged within the frameworks of existing hospital facilities. They will accommodate patients in the final stages of treatment, whose care requirements are not as intensive as those in the early stages of their treatment.
Sobyanin stated that discussions are currently underway regarding which facilities will house these additional beds.
It is important to note that the rate of COVID-19 transmission in Russia is among the fastest in the world, second only to the United States. The daily count of new infections continues to rise by several thousand.
