During the April War, the Armenian side lost up to 400 hectares. There is a shortcoming on my part too. Levon Mnatsakanyan

“I have provided answers to all the questions that the commission was interested in,” said former Chief of the Armenian Armed Forces, Levon Mnatsakanyan, during a press conference following the April commission meeting. According to him, no question was left unanswered.

In response to the observation that there were more than 100 casualties, the former military leader noted, “We did not have over 100 casualties; from April 2 to 5, there were 75 deaths, of which 35 were contract servicemen.”

When asked about Serzh Sargsyan's claim that we lost not 800 hectares, but 400 hectares of territory, Mnatsakanyan responded, “Based on our calculations, it is about 400 hectares.”

Regarding the question of what shortcomings existed during those days, Mnatsakanyan mentioned that there was a shortcoming on his part.

When asked if there was any talk of internal conspiracy in the country, Mnatsakanyan said no.

To the inquiry of whether there was a “fatal mistake” made during that operational period, Mnatsakanyan replied, “If we say that we accomplished the mission, what fatal mistake are we talking about?”

Mnatsakanyan revealed that there is an analytical report regarding the April war, but it has not been made public.
