Uzbekistan Reopens Construction Materials, Auto Service, and Notary Offices

The authorities of Uzbekistan have allowed the operation of construction materials markets, major auto service centers, and notary offices during quarantine measures starting April 24. According to RIA Novosti, this information was reported by the operational headquarters of the country's cabinet of ministers.

Uzbekistan has reported its first cases of COVID-19 following the return of citizens from France on March 15. As of Friday, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases has reached 1,804, with eight patients having died and 621 recovered. Authorities introduced a self-isolation regime in Tashkent and surrounding regions beginning April 1, prohibiting individuals over the age of 65 from leaving their homes. Nearly 90,000 people are currently in quarantine. The special commission for combating coronavirus has extended restrictions until May 10.

“Starting April 25, a number of sectors will resume operations during the quarantine measures. Entities in these sectors must strictly adhere to sanitary and anti-epidemic regulations during the pandemic,” stated a representative of the special headquarters.
