Today is Citizen's Day in Armenia

The Citizen's Day of the Republic of Armenia is celebrated on the last Saturday of April. On March 21, 2019, the Government of Armenia approved changes to the law on 'Holidays and Remembrance Days' that proposed establishing Citizen's Day as a new celebration.

On April 9, 2019, the National Assembly of Armenia passed a law amending the law on 'Holidays and Remembrance Days,' resulting in the new Article 4.1, which defined the holiday of Citizen's Day. According to this article, the Republic of Armenia's Citizen's Day is celebrated on the last Saturday of April. If May 1 coincides with a Saturday, Citizen's Day is celebrated on the last Sunday of April.
