More Than 200,000 People Have Died Worldwide from Coronavirus: Worldometers
As of now, 200,400 people have died worldwide due to the novel coronavirus, according to data from Worldometers.
According to regularly updated data, the leading country in terms of reported deaths related to the coronavirus disease is the United States, where 52,838 people have died. The U.S. also ranks first in the number of active cases with 766,295 infected individuals and a total of 929,637 confirmed cases.
The top three in terms of death rates in Europe are Italy (26,384), Spain (22,902), and France (22,245). The United Kingdom follows closely with 20,319 deaths.
Significant numbers of infections have also been recorded in Germany, Turkey, Iran, Russia, Brazil, Belgium, and Canada.
Currently, there are 2,867,574 confirmed cases worldwide, with 1,847,864 of them being active cases. Overall, 819,310 people have recovered.
