Silent Discontent Among Medical Staff on the Front Lines: 'Haykakan Jamanak'

'Haykakan Jamanak' writes: 'In recent days, there has been a silent, unvoiced discontent among medical personnel playing a crucial role regarding their remuneration: 'So many people have been brought to the front, these individuals are not going home, performing risky work, yet they receive pay equivalent to that of employees in other hospitals who are not in contact with COVID-19 patients but can earn “extra” income; it’s fair to admit this is unjust,' said one of the officials engaged in treating coronavirus patients.

So why aren’t they being paid more? 'They do not want to provide a systemic solution to the issue; it appears easier for them to rent additional 5-star hotels for absurd amounts rather than genuinely find a way to increase the salaries of doctors who have become kamikaze during these times.'

Are you suggesting that renting 5-star hotels involves manipulation, or is it funded by charitable contributions, or the state budget? 'No, I do not think about that; it is paid from the state budget.'

Are the hotels fully occupied with people? 'Yes, if new hotels are being rented, it means the remaining ones are full.'
