The Oldest Citizen in Armenia to Overcome Coronavirus is 93 Years Old

In Armenia, approximately 50 citizens over the age of 70 who were infected with the coronavirus have overcome the disease and been released from treatment.

According to data provided by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia in response to an inquiry by Armenpress, a little over half of those who recovered are women. During treatment, some patients had a moderate health status, while others were in severe condition. The number of those with mild cases is low.

The oldest among the recovered individuals over the age of 70 is a woman born in 1927, making her 93 years old. Initially, her health condition was moderate, later showing positive dynamics. After overcoming the disease, she was released from the hospital. Another woman born in 1930 and three years younger (90 years old) also recovered and was discharged at the beginning of April. She was not left behind by one of the 88-year-old women, who was released in mid-April. All of them had a moderate health status during treatment.

An 86-year-old man born in 1934 also experienced a moderate course of the disease and has since recovered and been discharged.

As of April 21 at 11:00, the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Armenia stands at 1,401, with 24 reported deaths. In total, 13,929 tests have been conducted. There are currently 609 recovered patients. Presently, 768 patients are receiving treatment, including six individuals over the age of 70.

The Armenian government decided at an extraordinary session on April 14 to extend the state of emergency declared on March 16, 2020, for an additional 30 days, until May 14, 2020, at 17:00. Strict restriction measures are in place across the country.
