Turkey Reacts to Western Armenia Map Shown on Russian Channel
In Turkey, the anger related to China's reference to Mount Ararat as a symbol of Armenia was just beginning to calm down when a new wave of discontent emerged. According to Ermenihaber, a program aired on Russian channel "HTB" displayed the borders of Armenia as outlined in the Treaty of Sèvres, along with the flag used by the "Western Armenia Exiled Government" organization.
The first to respond from Turkey was Gyoksel Gulbey, the head of the infamous anti-Armenian group "ASİMDER" (Union for the Fight Against Unfounded Armenian Claims), known for its absurd statements. He noted that Russia and France openly support Armenians who cherish dreams of establishing a state on Turkish territory. "France, which allowed the establishment of the so-called Exiled Government of Western Armenia, is now turning a blind eye to the process of granting citizenship to Western Armenia," Gulbey complained. He also accused Russia of spilling Turkish blood for centuries and enabling Muslims to be slaughtered by Armenians.
