The Government Has a Support Program for All Students
The government will provide support to all students based on their average academic performance rating (AAPR). Students will have the opportunity to obtain zero-interest or very low-interest loans.
According to a report by Armenpress, this was announced by the Assistant to the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nairi Sargsyan, during a press conference when asked if students studying through distance learning would also be included in the 14th measure.
Sargsyan emphasized that the government aims to incorporate motivational mechanisms into all programs. “We decided to include the same mechanism in the 14th measure. This encourages good academic performance, meaning that high-achieving students and honors students should not be excluded from university due to rent issues. However, we also have a program for all students, regardless of their academic performance level and the status of their university,” he noted.
During the preliminary discussions, it was decided that those with an AAPR of 80 or higher would have the opportunity to obtain a zero-interest student loan, while those with lower academic performance would receive loans at an annual interest rate of 5 percent,” Sargsyan added.
