VIDEO: Secret Filming in the Abandoned Tunnels of Yerevan Metro
Abandoned tunnels of the Yerevan metro: A video titled this has recently surfaced on YouTube. A young man named Den mentions at the onset of the video that the Yerevan metro has several unconstructed stations, which piqued the interest of a group of young people.
As is known, the metro is a strategically significant site, and all types of filming are prohibited there. For clarification, Auroranews reached out to Tatev Khachatryan, the press secretary of the Yerevan metro. She noted that they are aware of the publication but are not informed about when the young people conducted the filming.
“To film in the metro, one must apply and obtain permission. This group has never approached us and has not received filming permission. The permission process is as follows: One must apply, present the filming scenario, the plan, the number of participants, and identification documents. The application is reviewed by the metro management, and based on that, permission is granted. Metro employees must participate in the entire filming process to ensure that it aligns with the initial scenario and the ongoing filming,” she said.
It is worth mentioning that the video was uploaded to YouTube on March 10 of this year, but it is unclear when it was filmed. Tatev Khachatryan indicated that they have been investigating the activities of this group, known for their extreme sports interests, and they have filmed even in highly dangerous areas, including near the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. Upon entering the Republic Square station, they were warned that filming in the Yerevan metro is prohibited. “Investigations are being carried out, and clarification will be provided upon their conclusion,” said Tatyana Khachatryan, the press secretary of the Yerevan metro.
