Seven Family Members of a Covid-Infected Healthcare Worker in Stepanakert Quarantined
The Ministry of Health of Artsakh has announced that today, seven family members of a healthcare worker from Stepanakert who tested positive for the coronavirus have been quarantined and are currently staying in a designated hotel for isolation. They are currently showing no symptoms characteristic of the virus.
The preliminary contacts of the quarantined citizens have already been identified. They are self-isolating under the supervision of specialists and police. It is noted that the aforementioned healthcare worker works at the Republican Medical Center and had recently come into contact with a citizen from Karvachar who was isolated due to the virus.
According to the ministry, the results of 11 samples sent to Armenia for testing the day before have been fully received, confirming the coronavirus infection only in one individual (the healthcare worker). The tests for the other 10 citizens returned negative, indicating that they are not infected with the virus.
As of now, the number of individuals under quarantine in medical institutions and other designated facilities stands at 21.
It is recalled that there are currently 7 registered cases of the new coronavirus in Artsakh, two of which have recovered and have been discharged from the Kashatagh regional medical facility today.
