Coronavirus Detected in Employee of One of Yerevan's Courts
An employee of the technical staff at the Erebuni court in Yerevan has tested positive for coronavirus, according to the Judicial Council.
"We find it necessary to inform you that the employee, along with their family, has already been in isolation due to a family member testing positive for the virus a week ago. Specifically, the employee themselves informed via phone that a family member's test came back positive and that they would not be coming to work as they have self-isolated with their family," the announcement noted.
The employee's call prompted immediate communication with the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention at the Ministry of Health, which swiftly organized all necessary measures to prevent the pandemic. As part of these measures, today, five employees at the Erebuni court will undergo testing as a precaution.
Although at the end of March, it was reported that measures were being taken to ensure the normal operation of the courts during the pandemic, as well as to protect court staff from potential infections, the Erebuni court has once again undergone disinfection. This includes the administrative building of the Supreme Judicial Council, the Court of Cassation, the Court of Appeal for Criminal Cases, the Court of Appeal for Civil Cases, the Administrative Court, as well as all trial court premises in Yerevan and regional courts. Disinfection measures will also be implemented in all administrative buildings of the judicial authority.
It should also be reminded that the enforcement of restrictions regarding public services throughout the Republic of Armenia is facilitated by the decision of the administrative head on March 24, 2020, with respect to the state of emergency laws, the constitutional law of the Civil Code Article 89, the Supreme Judicial Council has made corresponding decisions and recommendations for the Judicial Department, court staff, and judicial regulators.
