Citizens Can Prevent Asymptomatic Virus Spread, Says 'Armenian Republic' Newspaper
Currently, coronavirus cases have been recorded in 7 out of 11 regions. In this situation, the effectiveness of state measures is diminishing, and the importance of public self-organization and compliance with restrictions is increasing. The state has limited the possible routes of virus transmission as much as possible, primarily by prohibiting the operation of public transport and organizing mass events. At this stage, the role of society in preventing the spread of the epidemic is becoming more significant.
Awareness about the importance of citizen behavior is continuously communicated through all possible means. After the implementation of economic mitigations, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan dedicated a significant portion of his video address to this message. He also urged employers in authorized sectors to ensure the safety of their workers.
Research conducted by scientists at the Singapore Health Institute indicates that 70 percent of coronavirus infections are asymptomatic, which increases the likelihood of transmission and complicates efforts to combat the virus. Therefore, the application of personal protective measures by each citizen becomes crucial, especially in cases where the state does not have the capacity to conduct widespread testing to ascertain the true number of asymptomatic carriers.
