If I Isolate Myself in a Room and Insult Someone, This Is Not a Call for Violence - Petrosyan
Georg Petrosyan, a member of the National Assembly from the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), claims that the bill criminalizing calls for violence lacks clarity. He stated today in the Assembly that it is necessary to explain what constitutes a public call.
“If I isolate myself at home in a room and start insulting people, this is not a call for violence. But what is considered public? Is it in the presence of two people or in front of no one?” Petrosyan said.
On the other hand, Petrosyan questioned the assertion made by Deputy Minister of Justice, Serbuhy Galayan, that calls for violence and their justification are the same acts. “If someone writes, for example, that a certain person should be slapped or punished, and I like it on Facebook, is that enough for me to be taken away and held criminally liable?” Petrosyan added.
