Administrative Violations Issued by Police Today Should Be Cancelled: Marukyan
The head of the "Enlightened Armenia" faction in the National Assembly, Edmon Marukyan, wrote on his Facebook page: "According to a brief message sent to citizens of the Republic of Armenia on behalf of the Chief of Police, citizens can change their permanent residence or place of self-isolation today until midnight.
After receiving the mentioned message, many citizens began to move around the country without a movement sheet, while police detained them across the country, taking them to police stations and issuing administrative reports, which serve as the basis for imposing fines of 100,000 to 250,000 drams.
However, as citizens report, they did not fill out the movement sheets today because they received the above message and thought they could move today without the sheet.
Secondly, detaining these individuals in police stations during a pandemic poses a risk of infection. Therefore, all such reports prepared today should be annulled, as the message sent from the State of Emergency Headquarters, which made no mention of the movement sheet, misled many citizens who, upon receiving it, believed they could relocate without the sheet."
