LIVE: National Assembly Discusses Extending State of Emergency by 30 Days
The National Assembly is discussing the extension of the state of emergency declared in Armenia on March 16, 2020, for an additional 30 days during its extraordinary session.
Just moments ago, the government made a decision during its extraordinary session to extend the state of emergency until May 14 at 17:00.
It is noteworthy that certain amendments have been made in the government's relevant decision; specifically, Chapter 7 regarding media outlets has been deemed null and void. This decision, among other regulations, will restrict the possibility of the Enforcement Service of the Republic of Armenia from imposing restrictions in certain cases during the state of emergency.
This restriction pertains to acts imposed for failure to pay parking fees established by local governments, as well as restrictions enforced based on acts issued by the Road Police if the enforcement proceedings were initiated after April 14, 2020.
