Armenian Police Attempt to Conceal Own Crimes: Daniel Ioannisian
Daniel Ioannisian, the head of the "Informed Citizens Union" NGO, made a post on his Facebook page regarding a statement made by the local police concerning the elections in Artsakh. He specifically noted that the Artsakh police are spreading falsehoods in an attempt to cover up their own crimes.
Here is the full post:
"The Artsakh police are spreading lies to conceal their own crimes.
- According to the location of voters, additional lists are compiled at the police station, published on the police website, and provided to the heads of the precinct electoral commissions along with the main lists. The police have not published these lists, which constitutes a crime under Article 150, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Artsakh. Anyone can verify the complete truth of what I said (see the Criminal and Electoral Codes of the Republic of Artsakh and the police website).
- In the aforementioned lists, the police only mention the names, surnames, patronymics, addresses, and birth dates of individuals. The passport number is filled in by a member of the election commission at the time of voting. The additional lists of voters by location for precincts No. 1/11 and No. 1/13 in Stepanakert contain repetitions. The same names, surnames, patronymics, addresses, and birth dates are fully listed in both lists. The police have written the exact same data in both lists. Whose passport number is noted next to that data and who signed/voted is a separate investigation issue (it should be clarified if another voter voted under Inna's name and why). However, the fact that the police have written the exact same person's name in both lists is a fact, the evidence of which I will provide in the comments (editor's note: photo).
- Moreover, the Police Passport and Visa Department uses the same program as in the Republic of Armenia. And that program excludes such errors. This could only happen if additional entries were added to a list before printing it out. That, in turn, constitutes a crime under Article 150, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Artsakh.
- Since the police have committed the crime mentioned in the first point, we cannot even check how many instances of the crime mentioned in the second point occurred (besides the one we accidentally uncovered).
P.S. In my life, I have heard for the second time that a body investigates the report of a crime that occurred within itself (the first was the well-known incident in Berdzor). It is evident, isn’t it, that the Police would not say, "yes, we committed a crime." But if the Artsakh police released such ridiculous statements once again, we will demand a judicial rebuttal.
