Vardenyats Pass Closed for Truck Trailers

The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that as of April 8 at 08:20, the roadways in the Republic of Armenia are mostly passable.

The roads leading to Amberd Fortress and Kari Lake in the Aragatsotn Province will remain closed for an indefinite time.

Vardenyats Pass is closed for truck trailers. The Sotk-Karvachar road is difficult to pass.

Regarding Lars, information received from the Emergency Situations Department of Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Crisis Management Center of North Ossetia of the Russian Federation indicates that the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open only for freight transport after intensive snow removal operations.

At the same time, it is reported that the decision to prohibit foreigners from entering Georgia remains in force. This ban does not apply to freight transport.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.
