Coronavirus Cases in Iran Reach 60,500, Reports RIA Novosti

The number of people infected with the novel coronavirus in Iran has reached 60,500, with 3,739 fatalities, reports RIA Novosti, citing a statement from an advisor to the Iranian Minister of Health.

“In the past day, 2,274 new cases of coronavirus infection were identified, bringing the total number of infected individuals to 60,500,” he stated on his Twitter account, adding that out of those infected, 24,236 have already recovered.

According to him, in the last 24 hours, 136 people have died from the disease, increasing the total death toll to 3,739.

The record number of infections in a single day in Iran has been 3,186, with 158 fatalities reported.
