Snowfall in Gegharkunik, Kotayk, Tavush, and Shirak Regions: Ministry of Emergency Situations
The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that as of 10:00 AM on April 4, highways in Armenia are generally passable. However, the roads leading to the Amberd Fortress and Kary Lake in the Aragatsotn region will remain closed for an indefinite period.
Snowfall is reported in Martuni, Sevan, and Gavar in the Gegharkunik region, in Hrazdan of the Kotayk region, in the city of Jermuk in Tavush, on the Saravan-‘Zanger’ section, and in the Dilijan mountain passes. Additionally, snow is present in the Ashotsk region of Shirak.
In Goris, Syunik region, fog is observed. According to information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Emergencies Ministry of Russia's North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars highway is open only to freight transport after intensive snow removal work.
It should be noted that the decision to prohibit the entry of foreigners into Georgia remains in effect. This ban does not apply to freight transport. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.
