Currently, there are 81 officially confirmed cases of coronavirus in Charentsavan, Governor says
The Governor of Kotayk Province, Romanos Petrosyan, wrote on his Facebook page: "Dear compatriots, residents of Kotayk,
Considering the fact that recently there has been much discussion regarding confirmed cases of coronavirus infection in the Charentsavan community of Kotayk Province, I find it necessary to inform you that currently there are 81 officially confirmed cases of coronavirus in Charentsavan. I am hopeful that we have managed to isolate all possible contacts, and apart from the mentioned number of our citizens who are receiving treatment primarily at the Nork Infectious Disease Hospital, many contact families and citizens have been quarantined by the state in our resort facilities in Tsaghkadzor. They are regularly tested and are under the daily supervision of doctors.
I assure you that everything has been done to halt the spread of the infection in our beloved Charentsavan and to stabilize the situation. At this time, we can affirm that the situation is fully under our control.
Nevertheless, in order to prevent the spread of the infection in Charentsavan, a number of social initiatives and programs are being implemented through the cooperation of the community and several entrepreneurs. In this context, I would like to emphasize the fact that, at the initiative of the Charentsavan community, supermarkets operating in the community such as 'Safari,' 'Araks,' 'Zoya,' 'Levon Pap,' 'Charents,' as well as various businesses and the Adyan brothers, are providing daily food supplies to around 450 families in the community.
Moreover, former Kotayk governor and businessman K. Guloyan has donated 5 million drams to the Charentsavan Medical Center as part of measures aimed at preventing the spread of the infection, which includes extensive operations, overloaded health services, examinations of contact citizens, and round-the-clock monitoring by health facilities. This is one of the best examples of cooperation between local self-governance and the private sector, which should undoubtedly be contagious for other communities as well.
I am grateful to the community for this wonderful mobilization, to the businesses for standing by the community, and to the active volunteers involved in these processes for their humanitarian and patriotic efforts. I call upon other communities in the province to take Charentsavan's mobilization as an example in their actions. I am confident that united and with joint efforts, we will succeed in overcoming this crisis very quickly. Stay healthy!"
