COVID-19 Cases in Turkey Reach 18,135
As of April 2, Turkey has reported an additional 79 deaths due to the novel coronavirus (Covid-19). This was announced by Turkey's Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca on his official Twitter account, as reported by Ermenihaber.
In his post, the minister stated that there were 2,456 new confirmed cases of coronavirus from 18,757 tests conducted over the past 24 hours. During the same timeframe, there were 79 reported deaths among those infected.
Currently, 1,101 patients are in intensive care. In the last 24 hours, 82 patients have recovered.
According to the latest data, Turkey has confirmed a total of 18,135 cases of infection and 356 deaths. A total of 125,556 tests have been conducted, and 415 patients have recovered.
Koca also reported that the number of tests conducted on April 2 increased by 4,000 compared to the previous day, while the number of positive diagnoses decreased. He stated that 82% of those who died from the pandemic in Turkey are individuals aged 60 and above.
