The Governor of Lori, Andrey Ghukasyan, announced on his Facebook page that the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the region has reached 5.

“Dear residents of Lori, as of today, we have two more cases of coronavirus infection in Lori. Thus, the total number of cases in our region has reached 5. The contacts of the infected individuals have been identified and all are isolated.

This once again gives us a reason to call for clarity. Despite the stricter restrictions set by the Emergency Commandant and our daily monitoring, many citizens simply do not want to understand the seriousness of the moment and each one confidently believes that the infection will never reach them or any member of their family. However, we can only avoid the infection if we, as law-abiding citizens, strictly follow all the instructions.

Unfortunately, this is not the case. Especially today, in the regional center of Vanadzor, I witnessed numerous gatherings of people, which I find absolutely unacceptable.

Once again, I emphasize that everything is done solely for the sake of our collective safety. The situation in our region is being controlled thanks to the coordinated work of various agencies. I again request and urge you to follow the commandant’s instructions and go out only when absolutely necessary. Do not jeopardize your health and the lives of your loved ones,” the minister wrote.
