Heavy Snow Falls in Japan for the First Time in March in a Decade
A heavy snowfall has blanketed Japan's capital since Sunday morning. According to TACC agency, citing local media, this is the first time in a decade that snow has fallen in Tokyo in March.
The temperature hovers around +1 degrees Celsius, with the snow covering parked cars, trees, and grass. Roads are slick with black ice, causing vehicles to move slowly.
Just on Saturday, the weather in Tokyo was warm, reaching temperatures of 23 degrees Celsius around midday. However, forecasts indicate that some areas in Tokyo could see snow accumulation of up to 20 centimeters on Sunday.
Reports mention that several flights have been delayed due to the unexpected snowfall.
