87 Citizens Fined in Turkey for Violating Quarantine Rules

In the Sivas province of Turkey (historically known as Sebastia), 87 citizens have been fined for failing to comply with measures implemented by the Ministry of Health to prevent the spread of coronavirus and the established quarantine rules. This was reported by ermenihaber.am.

The Sivas governor's office has issued a statement indicating that a quarantine regime was imposed on 135 individuals who returned from abroad. These individuals were required to self-isolate for 14 days and remain indoors.

After inspections, it was revealed that 87 of these citizens did not adhere to the rules and left their homes. They were subjected to administrative penalties and fined 3,150 Turkish lira (approximately 236,000 Armenian drams).

It was noted that 327 individuals over the age of 65 were warned for not complying with the prohibition on leaving their homes, and a second violation of this rule will result in a fine of the aforementioned amount.
