Joe Saunders' Joke Leads to Another Boxer Being Removed from Flight

Boxer Joe Saunders called Delta Airlines and jokingly informed them that WBA and IBF light-welterweight champion Josh Taylor and his coach Ben Davison were infected with the new coronavirus, reports Eurosport.ru.

As noted by Mirror, as a result, Taylor and Davison were removed from the flight.

“Great job, Billy, your plan worked! We aren't flying anywhere and we have serious problems. Thank you for that! They said there can't be any jokes here. We are now under strict monitoring…” Davison stated.

Later, Saunders publicly apologized for the incident, insisting that he called out of genuine concern for his friend's health. He spoke about this in a video posted on his Twitter account.
