Video: Traffic Police Chase and Arrest Pickpocket
On March 18, a passenger's wallet was stolen by an unknown individual inside a bus on route 42. After getting off the bus, the woman realized her wallet was missing at one of the stops on Gayi Boulevard.
“We were performing our duties in that area of Gayi Boulevard when a woman approached us and reported that her wallet had been stolen on one of the buses. At that moment, she received a notification that someone was trying to withdraw cash from her card at an ATM located at 3/1 Lvovyan Street. We quickly reached the specified address with the woman in our service vehicle,” stated Traffic Police inspector David Karimyan.
Police found no one around the ATM, but...
“In that area, we noticed a young man running up the stairs. We drove towards the stairs and caught him right in the courtyard of the building,” he added.
The pickpocket was found in possession of the woman's wallet. He was taken to the New Norq police station. His identity was revealed to be a 33-year-old resident of Sari Tagh.
The stolen items were returned to the woman. Circumstances are being clarified, and materials are being prepared.
