VIDEO: Tips for Using Public Transport
The Ministry of Health of Armenia is providing recommendations for using public transport to prevent the spread of coronavirus, particularly urging people to minimize the use of public transport when possible.
The advisory video was posted on the Facebook page of Minister Arsen Torosyan. "Minimize the use of public transport as much as possible, sanitize your hands with an alcohol-based disinfectant before and after using public transport. Cover your nose and mouth with your elbow or a tissue when coughing or sneezing, and discard the tissue in the trash as soon as possible. Do not use public transport if you are feeling unwell," advises the ministry.
The ministry recommends washing hands frequently with soap (for at least 20 seconds) and advises not to touch your face before washing your hands. It is also recommended to avoid carrying too many passengers when using personal transport.
The government of Armenia has declared a state of emergency. The emergency is in effect throughout the Republic of Armenia from March 16, 2020, at 18:30 until April 14, 2020, at 17:00. As of March 20 at 10:00, there are a total of 136 confirmed cases of coronavirus. The first confirmed case in Armenia was registered on March 1, when a citizen returned from Iran. He has recovered and has been discharged from the hospital.
