Man Dies of Coronavirus in Japan After Intentionally Infecting Others

A man infected with the coronavirus has died in Japan after intentionally spreading the virus to others, reports TASS news agency. The 57-year-old man from the city of Gamagori in Aichi Prefecture passed away in a hospital where he spent his final days.

The patient had tested positive for the coronavirus in early March. Doctors had initially advised him to self-isolate upon returning home, as it was not possible to take him to the infectious diseases department that day. Instead, according to reports, he visited crowded places, notifying relatives in advance that he intended to spread the infection.

He reportedly visited a bar, where he spent about 15 minutes. Following that, he went to a Philippine bar, spending around 40 minutes there. While at the bar, the man sang karaoke and embraced a staff member, informing her of his coronavirus diagnosis. Subsequently, the bar management called the police and ambulance.

Four days after the incident, the girl's temperature rose, and upon testing, she was also diagnosed with coronavirus.
