When Shopping, Please Remember That They Have Expiration Dates: Gevorgyan

During a meeting with reporters today, the President of the State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition (SCPEC), Gegham Gevorgyan, addressed questions concerning public concerns. He informed that the SCPEC is currently aware of the pricing situation in the market as well as in the regions, and there is no need for total control across the entire republic at this time.

Gevorgyan noted that there are no issues with flour, wheat, sugar, oil, butter, cheese, or sour cream.

“We are monitoring 44 product names, with grocery items being the most purchased. There is a new shipment on the way to Armenia, and stocks are available in warehouses. However, I urge everyone to make purchases within reasonable limits. People tend to avoid shopping every day, but gathering in lines poses a bigger problem. When shopping, please remember that they have expiration dates. For example, if someone buys 4 boxes of eggs, they have a shelf life; it makes no sense. At least in terms of eggs, we have a surplus in our republic,” he said.

The SCPEC president urged to shop wisely.
