The Chamber of Advocates Urges to Postpone Court Hearings
The Chamber of Advocates of Armenia has urged lawyers to refrain from participating in court hearings and investigative actions until March 23, except in urgent cases. During this period, lawyers are advised to submit requests for postponing scheduled court hearings and investigative actions.
They are encouraged to perform procedural actions via written procedures, such as responding to petitions and filing appeals. The Chamber of Advocates recommends avoiding meetings with clients in detention facilities unless absolutely necessary.
While conducting inquiries, lawyers should utilize electronic platforms to the maximum extent (e-cadastre.am, e-register.am). Correspondence with the Chamber of Advocates should be sent electronically. In case of isolation due to potential infection, lawyers are required to inform the Chamber.
The Chamber of Advocates will also restrict citizen access to the public defender's office starting March 23. Some staff members, including those from the public defender's office, will be given the option to work from home, prioritizing employees with children, health issues, or those aged 60 and above.
