Central Bank: No Decision to Suspend Operations of Any Commercial Bank Branch
The Central Bank of Armenia announced that as of March 16, 2020, no decision has been made to suspend the operations of any commercial bank branch. This information was released in a statement from the Central Bank.
In response to the current situation, the Central Bank is in communication with commercial banks, which have only temporarily closed certain branches located in shopping centers (malls) in Yerevan due to the suspension of operations of these commercial centers. The following branches are among those that have closed:
- VTB Armenia Bank's Ejmiadzin branch
- Ameriabank's Ejmiadzin branch
- Unibank's Ejmiadzin branch
- ID Bank's Ejmiadzin branch
- ACBA Credit Agricole Bank's Ejmiadzin and Vardenis branches
In Ejmiadzin, several other banks continue their operations, including Ardshininvestbank, Hayekonombank, Converse Bank, and Ararat Bank. These commercial banks are providing normal customer service at their branches while adhering to the safety regulations prescribed by the Ministry of Health.
No commercial bank branch in the territory of the Republic of Armenia can be closed without a decision from the Central Bank of Armenia.
