Minimum 75-Person Staff of Air Traffic Controllers Self-Isolated at Zvartnots Area
The staff of the "HayAeronavigatsia" CJSC, responsible for the safe organization of air traffic within the Republic of Armenia and its two international airports, has self-isolated due to the coronavirus.
Due to the risk of coronavirus infection, employees have isolated themselves in the company's administrative building. This decision was made jointly by the Ministry of Health, the Civil Aviation Committee, and the management of "HayAeronavigatsia" CJSC.
Mandatory precautionary measures have been implemented following the discovery of a COVID-19 infection case among the company's staff in Ejmiatsin. To ensure the continuous operation of the country's air traffic, a minimum staff of 75, including aviation controllers and engineering specialists, is currently present in the building, led by the company's General Director Artur Gasparyan.
The management has urgently organized all necessary measures for the ongoing work and rest of the quarantined staff, initially set to last 14 days. Access to and from the administrative building located at Zvartnots Airport is restricted for everyone.
This decision will ensure uninterrupted air traffic in the airspace of the Republic of Armenia, as well as at the country’s two international airports.
