My stay in Denmark has no relation to either the coronavirus or my child's citizenship, Revazyan

The head of the Civil Aviation Administration, Tatevik Revazyan, has denied reports that she left the country due to the spread of the coronavirus and moved to Denmark, according to infocheck.am.

“My stay in Denmark has no connection to either the coronavirus or obtaining citizenship for my child. Denmark is currently much more dangerous in terms of the virus spread than Armenia, so the idea of 'fleeing from the coronavirus' is absurd. I traveled to Denmark to be with my family. My leave was supposed to start on March 20, but considering that the Danish government decided to close its borders due to the same coronavirus, I decided to leave now, using vacation time that I had left from last year,” stated Revazyan.

Regarding her child's citizenship, Revazyan noted that even if she gives birth in Armenia, the child can still become a citizen of Denmark, as citizenship in that country is determined by the mother's nationality. “My child will be a dual citizen of Denmark and Armenia, as my first step towards obtaining citizenship when I moved to Armenia in 2017 was necessary,” Revazyan disclosed.
