The Decision to Arrest Aram Vardanyan Challenged

The decision to arrest Aram Vardanyan, known by the nickname 'Vstrechi Aper', as a measure of restraint has been challenged. This was reported to NEWS.am by Vardanyan's lawyer, Yervand Varosyan.

It is noteworthy that the Investigative Committee announced that a decision was made to involve Aram Vardanyan as an accused, and a search has been issued against him. He is accused of organizing the robbery committed by Emir Aramyan in 2016, organizing the abduction of the same Emily in 2019, and then attempting to murder him on March 4, 2020.

According to the Investigative Committee's announcement, on March 5, 2020, Vardanyan's nephew A.V. was charged under Article 131 (abduction) of the RA Criminal Code, while S.K. was charged under Article 176 (robbery) of the RA Criminal Code, part 3, point 1.

It should be noted that on the night of March 4, 2020, around 02:40, hundreds of police officers raided the houses located at 17 Artsakh Street, belonging to Aram Vardanyan and his relatives. As a result of the actions taken, Vardanyan's son and two citizens were taken in, and two more citizens were arrested, one of whom is Vardanyan's nephew and the other is a neighbor.
