Every week we catch an official for bribery, says Prime Minister
There is no systemic corruption in Armenia, and I can guarantee that as long as we support the current political realities, there will be no systemic corruption. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during his speech at a campaign event in Jermuk on March 12.
“But can I say that today officials do not take bribes? Of course, I will not say that, because we catch officials for bribery every week. But what should be done to put an end to this? The discussion is about the remnants of the corrupt system everywhere, including in the government, hoping, thinking—just hold on for another couple of months, and our people will come back. But the people have sent you so far away, even if you open the speed of light, you can’t come back. The problem is that this tense atmosphere continues in Armenia,” Pashinyan said, adding that as long as the judicial system issue is not resolved, this tense atmosphere must continue.
