VIDEO: Police Prevent Robbery

The presence of police officers, whether on the street or in a park, inherently deters criminal activity. Especially in crowded areas, law enforcement is more vigilant and attentive, enabling them to catch criminals in the act.

On March 9, this was precisely the case on Moscow Street when a man attempted to openly steal a woman's handbag in broad daylight. The woman called for help, and detectives from the Central Police Department spotted the fleeing man with the handbag near the Tamanyan statue. They pursued, apprehended him, and took him into custody on suspicion of robbery.

At the police station, the identity of the suspect was established; he was a 47-year-old resident of Arshakunyats Avenue. The victim filed a report, and a criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident. The apprehended man has been arrested, and an investigation is underway.
