I Consider the Decision on Bonuses to be Correct, Please Support it: Pashinyan
Since my first day as Prime Minister, I have not received bonuses; I have allocated bonuses to others so that the ministers and deputy ministers can focus on their work and ensure results for the people. This was stated today, March 11, during his speech at the "Yes" campaign event in Sisian by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, addressing criticisms that the government is legally embezzling from the state budget through bonuses.
"Have they ensured results or not? I mentioned earlier that we have allocated 3 billion drams to the disaster area. We are providing homes for 750 people, and in 2018, we provided homes for 230 people. What about the 300 children from the orphanage, or the 200 individuals who were forcibly displaced from Azerbaijan? We are giving them homes. According to the results of 2019, Armenia recorded the highest economic growth among Eastern European countries. Since 2018, we have increased the salaries, pensions, or benefits of 1 million people. We have increased healthcare spending by 30 billion drams compared to 2017. That is the money being provided to you. We have increased capital expenditures by 50 billion drams, which means roads and schools. We have increased social spending by 82 billion drams. I consider the decision on bonuses to be correct, and I ask you to support that decision," the Prime Minister emphasized, adding that he will pay bonuses and demand strict efficiency from all ministers.
