Video: Police Detain Three Pickpockets
On March 6, employees of the 6th division of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Police of Yerevan revealed three cases of pickpocketing. Two of the thefts occurred in the Arabkir administrative district. A man's mobile phone was stolen from his pocket on Baghramyan Avenue, and a woman's purse containing cash and bank cards was taken from a location at the intersection of Freedom Avenue and Mamikonyants Street.
Specialized division officers detained a 44-year-old resident of Dros Street on Komitas Avenue on the same day, suspected of theft, as well as a 32-year-old man residing on Amiryan Street from Adonts Street. The detainees provided confessional explanations, and the stolen items were recovered.
The third incident occurred in the Shengavit administrative area. A woman's wallet, containing money, was stolen from her purse on bus route 44. Officers from the pickpocketing prevention division detained a 22-year-old young man from Pushkin Street on Garagin Nzhdeh Square around 6:30 PM, suspected of theft. He has provided a confessional explanation and reported the stolen items. The circumstances are being clarified, and materials are being prepared regarding the theft cases.
