There Are Citizens Who Disagree on Certain Matters, We Represent Those People: Marukyan

The leader of the parliamentary faction 'Enlightened Armenia' Edmond Marukyan, during a parliamentary briefing, commented on the ongoing election campaign, stating that he cannot elaborate on what dangers may arise from the referendum campaign.

"We are not participating in any way, we only hope that the poster with the skull image, which also had our name on it, has been removed. We have no further comments. We are not following the campaign to record violations," he said.

When asked what their voter base should do on April 5—go to the referendum or not—Marukyan responded that they had already addressed that in their last press conference and have no additional remarks. "The government has a very high rating, but there are citizens of Armenia who disagree on certain matters. We represent those people," Marukyan stated, adding that it is not necessarily important for people to love the opposition; what matters is that they trust.
