«Million Euro Defendant Flies High in Europe»: Levon Barseghyan

Levon Barseghyan, the chairman of the Journalists' 'Asparez' Club, wrote on his Facebook page: 'The million euro defendant is flying high in Europe. Do you know why? Because the state hasn’t stolen it; it’s simply been a misunderstanding, and the money will be placed back. The question of how many children deprived of education could have had access to education with one million euros, or how many people could have received treatment, or how many bullets could have been purchased is a detail.'

'Brussels takes the accused seriously. This is another Christmas tree on the Foreign Ministry’s head. How is the minister doing? Surely he’s not one of those ministers who was in the defendant’s staff. There’s no need to explain how Serj Sargsyan and his old connections and very old cognacs were used to organize this and other receptions. This wouldn’t have been possible if the authorities had declared that the state was seized, and one of the perpetrators was Serj Sargsyan, while some high-ranking officials in the current Foreign Ministry were among the others, who might claim they are innocent and have worked under Serj’s wing, and that they are modest diplomats and civil servants, simply trying to make ends meet.'
