Impression Created That Armenia is Flooded with Wild Rapists: Arman Abovyan

Member of the Armenian National Assembly, Arman Abovyan, wrote on his Facebook page: "Dear people, since this morning, information has been circulating that an Armenian journalist, Lucy Kocharyan, has received an award in the 'Brave Woman' category in the USA. If I’m not mistaken, Mrs. Kocharyan also received this award for her initiative named 'Voice of Violence.' The essence was that Mrs. Kocharyan posts stories of allegedly assaulted women on her Facebook page. After reading those horrifying stories, I had the impression that Armenia is simply flooded with wild rapists, and that for example, in the streets of Yerevan, raging men are continuously beating and raping women. Here is the preamble; now to the main questions.

1- Curiously, this alarming coincidence emerged right when the promotion of the Istanbul Convention became very active in Armenia. No real evidence has been published about these stories. For this reason, before expressing my final opinion, I am sending an inquiry to the police to understand the authenticity of these stories. After receiving a response, I will definitely publish my final conclusions, and together we will draw conclusions around this 'violence' epic. For now, let’s wait for the police response.
