Fact: Serzh Sargsyan to be Invited to April Investigation Committee

The newspaper 'Fact' reports: 'As is known, there has been an investigative committee in the National Assembly for about a year that is examining the circumstances of the military actions that took place in April 2016. Throughout this year, a significant number of military personnel and high-ranking former and current officials have been invited to answer questions of interest to the committee.'

Public opinion regarding the committee's activities is, to put it mildly, not unanimous. On one hand, the public is undoubtedly concerned about whether the Armenian authorities failed in their duties in 2016 or if there were serious omissions and failures. On the other hand, there are many opinions suggesting that the actions of this investigative committee are not so much of a professional nature as they are political.

Recently, various reports have circulated about inviting certain officials to the committee. 'Fact' has learned that it is planned to invite the third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, to the committee before the beginning of April, and the discussion will, of course, be held in a closed regime. Notably, the president of the investigative committee, Andranik Kocharyan, has repeatedly announced the intention to invite the third president as well. However, interesting information has emerged indicating that the authorities are planning to invite Serzh Sargsyan to the committee precisely at the beginning of April.'
