Turkish Broadcaster's Controversial Statement: 'All Non-Turks, Including Armenians, Should Leave'
A local broadcaster from Şanlıurfa, Turkey, made a xenophobic statement during a live broadcast. In an attempt to justify Turkey's military operations in Idlib, he called for other ethnic groups residing in Turkey, including Armenians, to "leave" the country, reports ermenihaber.
“There may be people who consider that this country is not their homeland, that this nation is not theirs. Well, a wonderful opportunity has been created for them. As long as the borders are open for refugees, you can enter in the guise of a refugee and disappear, leave this country,” the broadcaster stated on air.
“You can say, ‘I am not a child of this country, I am a grandchild of a Russian, a son of a German, a grandchild of an Englishman, a product of an Armenian…’ You can say that. If that’s the case, the gates are waiting for you, disappear, leave,” the broadcaster announced.
