The Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Comments on the Facilitation of Entry Procedures between Armenia and Georgia

The importance of encouraging communication between people and strengthening ties between societies has been emphasized by the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Georgia. In this context, a memorandum of intent has been signed, which lays the groundwork for the commencement of negotiations on signing a respective bilateral international agreement.

This was noted by Anna Naghdalyan, the spokesperson for Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in response to a question regarding the recent agreements made during Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's official visit to Georgia. The agreement focuses specifically on simplifying entry procedures between Armenia and Georgia, particularly regarding the possibility of traveling with identification cards.

When is this agreement expected to come into effect? The spokesperson highlighted: “As it has been reported, the importance of encouraging communication between people and strengthening ties between societies has been emphasized during the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Georgia, and, accordingly, a memorandum of intent has been signed. Signing this memorandum establishes the basis for the commencement of negotiations regarding the signing of a respective bilateral international agreement.”

She added that the public will be properly informed during various stages of the contract signing and implementation processes, in accordance with legislation.
