No Iranian Citizens Isolated Due to Coronavirus in Armenia: Details

The Iranian state news agency IRNA reported yesterday that 32 individuals suspected of having contracted the coronavirus were isolated at the «Golden Palace» hotel in Tsaghkadzor and that these individuals were Iranian citizens. Subsequently, another Iranian website continued the theme, finding geopolitical undertones in the idea of 'isolating Iranian citizens.'

“It is noteworthy that China has the largest embassy in Yerevan compared to the USA, but when news about the spread of the coronavirus in Armenia was published, it was stated that the virus spread not through Chinese individuals, but through Iranians,” the site wrote.

In response to an inquiry from the 'Information Verification Center,' Armenian Health Minister Arsen Torosyan stated that among the individuals isolated due to suspicion of coronavirus, there are no Iranian citizens; they are exclusively citizens of the Republic of Armenia. It is evident that there can be no talk of any 'geopolitical conspiracy.' The fight against the coronavirus has an international nature, and a person's nationality or citizenship is of no significance in combating the virus.
