Kocharian's Lawyer Sues the NSS and Public Television
Robert Kocharian's lawyer Aram Orbelyan has filed a lawsuit against the National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia and the Public Television of Armenia. He demands the retraction of factual information that he claims constitutes defamation and seeks compensation for damages caused by the defamation.
The lawsuit was filed on March 3 and has been assigned to Judge Naira Avetisyan of the Yerevan City Court of General Jurisdiction. Orbelyan's representative Narine Beglaryan stated in an interview with Hraparak that the reason for the lawsuit was that inaccurate information about Aram Orbelyan was presented during the main news release of H1 on January 30.
“During the report, it was mentioned that Aram Orbelyan had repeatedly entered and exited the Constitutional Court from May to August 2018 in violation of order. This is not true,” she noted.
When asked why they are suing the NSS, Beglaryan responded, “If we believe the media reports, the NSS is the original source of the information in question.”
