Turkey Destroys Two Syrian Fighters and 103 Tanks
The Turkish Ministry of National Defense announced on Sunday that two Syrian Su-24 fighter jets were shot down over Idlib. Intense clashes continue between the Syrian army and opposition forces on the ground. Turkey is backing its allies with fire support, targeting Syrian air defense systems and armored vehicles.
“Two air defense systems have been destroyed, one of which had downed our drone. Two Su-24 aircraft belonging to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's forces were shot down while attacking our planes,” the statement read, as reported by the TASS agency.
Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar stated on Sunday during a televised speech that since the launch of the 'Spring Shield' operation, Turkish forces have neutralized 2,212 Syrian soldiers, destroyed 103 tanks, 8 helicopters, 1 drone, as well as missile launch systems and other weaponry.
