Mobile Phones Hidden from Customs Control Discovered
The State Revenue Committee's Department for Combating Smuggling continues its efforts to uncover illegally imported goods. This information has been reported by the SRC's press service.
Recently, the department's employees halted several incidents of illegal importation of 70 mobile phones at the Bagratashen border crossing. While inspecting the vehicle of an Armenian citizen arriving from Georgia, officials discovered 38 mobile phones of various models hidden under the engine and other parts of the car.
In another case, at the Bagratashen border crossing, 33 mobile phones of different models were found concealed in the vehicle of a Georgian citizen arriving from Georgia. The phones were hidden beneath the rubber cover of the car's trunk.
The materials regarding these cases have been forwarded to the SRC's Legal Department under Article 201 of the Armenian Customs Code, which outlines violations related to customs procedures.
